Disability Support Workers

Our clients are dedicated to high quality disability care services. They aim to empower members of their community by providing them with real choice and control regarding meeting their needs related to home care, household tasks, transport services and community access. They aim to create enriching roles for their support workers and strive to produce meaningful connections with the participants, in order to help them achieve their individual needs and goals. 

 

About the Roles

Role type: casual to part-time and/or full-time depending on the specific, required roster and availability of the suitable candidate

Location: various assignments available across Newcastle, Maitland and Hunter region

These roles are suitable to highly reliable and experienced Disability Support Workers, who have proven empathy, commitment and compassion.

Main responsibilities include:

  • High personal care and domestic duties support
  • Administration of the individual’s medication prompts
  • Support the client managing their individual daily routine
  • Support building individual’s own independence
  • Transport to appointments and accompany clients to community events (where required)

 

About You

  • Previous experience within the healthcare, aged care or disability industry; relevant qualifications in Disability, Individual Support or Aged Care is desirable but not essential
  • Excellent support service delivery with high levels of respect
  • Strong sense of accountability and confidentiality
  • Computer literate in order to be able to keep clients records updated
  • Current First Aid; CPR Certificate is desirable
  • National Police Check or NDIS Worker Screen Check
  • Working with Children Check
  • Unrestricted DL and own vehicle with comprehensive insurance
  • Available to support client/s on consistent basis
  • Experience with positive behaviour plan and mental health management is desirable but not essential
