Contract Project Manager / Engineer

About the Role:

The right person for this role will have appropriate experience as a Project Manager and Project Engineer.

As a contracted Project Manager, you will be required to manage and lead projects through the delivery phase for commercial retail and fuel systems including:

  • Retail/fuel upgrades (minor works) and full asset construction (major capital works)
  • Contractor Management
  • HSE management and incident reporting while ensuring compliance is met
  • Execution and delivery of projects
  • Understand and apply AS4902 Design and Construct Contracts
  • Ensure project costs are well defined and completed within budget
  • Establish and meet schedules and project targets
  • Ensure project is executed to meet Development Approval (local Council) and regulatory compliance
  • Cross functional communication and stakeholder management

 

As a contracted Project Engineer, you will be required to:

  • Lead front end engineering and safety evaluations for projects
  • Provide technical/engineering assurance and support to a project delivery team
  • Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders/consultants and contractors
  • Manage consultant performance throughout the design process to ensure client expectations are met
  • Present standards and procedures to those involved in the project

 

About You:

  • Minimum 6+ years’ experience in a similar role and/or related technical environment (Engineering Design, Consulting, Project & Construction Management)
  • Experience in commercial retail or the fuel industry is desirable
  • Demonstrated experience with projects ranging in value from $250K to $5M
  • Competent in setting, delivering and leading OH&S objectives for projects
  • Extensive experience with risk analysis, mitigation, and contingency planning
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work with multiple suppliers of engineering and construction services
  • Solid prioritisation skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Good understanding in FEL and project stage gate processes
  • Knowledge of hydrocarbons
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel
  • Status as a sole trader and/or hold an ABN/ACN
  • Ability to hold (or ability to obtain) $2M Public Indemnity and $20M Public Liability insurances.
